Let's know the facts before condemning Kaepernick. "That's Natalie!" view on Freed
I usually don't voice my opinion on society views because people become the judge and jury. However, I love football and the sportsmanship of the game. Mr. Kaepernick performed an act that could now cost him his career. I didn't watch that game because, honestly, I'm a Colts fan. However, I started to see people put this man down for not standing up for the Anthem. Because of this action, he is now being put out for the slaughter. I never met this man, but I'm going to provide you information that will not only free him, but educate others on the premise on the definition of Freedom in America.
The definition of a Traitor is: A person who betrays a friend, country, principle and etc. So, for him not standing would he be a traitor? No. He didn't stand because of his beliefs. With the current acts of individuals getting killed by police is horrible. I can't say anything negative about the police because I had family members that were apart of that brotherhood. However, the good policemen and women are lumped in with the bad ones. It's like when you put bad meat in a pot of stew. Regardless of how good the stew was prior to the meat, it contaminated the entire stew. From there, the stew is no good. Mr. Kaepernick has the right to voice his views. That's why Americans since the Revolutionary War fought for freedom to live the life they choose and voice the views they feel.
Per Article III of the U.S. Constitution, it states the following: Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort. No person shall be convicted of treason unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open court. An excellent example is Benedict Arnold. I'm going to give a quick synopsis on him. He was a great general during the Revolutionary War. He decided to aid the British by providing information to help them win the war. If you want to know more on him, look it up. Long story short, he changed his allegiance from the Colonies to England. Mr. Kaepernick is far from a traitor than apples to potatoes.
If you go online ,you can see the oath that Enlistees take when going into the Armed Services. After reading it, it said nothing on the Flag. It swears to defend the Constitution of the United States and obey the orders of the appointed officers and the President of the United States. The American Flag is a symbol just like the Bald Eagle. I don't even think schools say the Pledge of Allegiance anymore. So are you going to get mad at kids? We are losing the focus of what makes America Great. It's the fact that we are free to be who we are. Men and women have died for this right, veterans and non-veterans alike. So, before we go burn jerseys,do your research.
